My friend Roji modeling the prop and costume I created for him.
Okay, the reason it looks bad is because I actually finished this at the con, one blade fabricated, the skins completed, and a lot of details done -at- the con.
The story behind the making of such a huge project was this; I was talking and said I could make just about any cosplay costume anyone wanted, my friend roji turned his laptop around and asks if I could make that. I answer, "sure, but if I tried it, and it wouldn't be -wonderful- but I could do it." I then gave him three criteria before I even attempted it (four technically) I said if I was making it, he'd have to learn the name of it (Ryuumon Hozukimaru) He'd have to learn the luck-luck dance, and finally, he'd have to shave his head and pay for material costs. A couple of weeks later, he came up and said he knew the name of it. A few days later... he came in and his head was shaved. I was stuck in the contract when he offered me 400$ for material costs. I undertook the challange, and came out with -this-.
It's construction is rip-stop nylon, tent poles. a LOT of cotton bias tape in various forms, and silver lame for the skins. The red fluff is yarn, the poles are pvc, the chains are florist foam rings painted black, and the counter weights are camp foam painted black. We connected it with a hidden harness under his muscle shirt and a pair of wall hooks secured to it. Total cost so far, 462$ and I have to reskin the blades, and rebuild the two polearm blades.
And before anyone asks, no we didn't win anything at the costume contest. He'll be at AWA with it.
No idea at all. I wish I knew though I'd be right there with you buying a copy. She said "there is such a thing as too big" So I can kind of understand why I didn't win outright. But I was kind of hoping for some kind of mention, not an award. I can't get any feedback on it from the cosplay forums either, kinda sucky. I'm gonna try to have it all the way done for AWA though, wether my model's there or not. Dangit, Vic's signing the thing!

Domo! It took more thought than sewing, and the dumb polearm blades are too big and not the right shape, I'm redoing the skins and the dragon, and the polearms are just being completely redone for AWA... But.. it did turn out pretty good in the end. Even with the goofy looking muscle shirt. Thank you!
