Lifen

This is Lifen and her species for an Avatar: The Last Airbender creature.

I was trying to make it look a little like a cross between a squirrel, a deer/goat and a dog/fox/cat (I couldn't decide) So when I asked mom what it looked like, she said "A goat with paws".
Which was what I've been TRYING to manage with Rainamon. So it worked out.

Stuggare (gods I hate that name, someone help me come up with a better name for them) are mostly herbivores. They use their sharp retractable claws to climb fruit and nut trees to get to the best fruits/nuts at the tops. From time to time they'll eat grubs and bugs and (if they can catch one) fish. Only the females have long bushy tails, the males have short stubbier tails. Their horns are used for postureing for mates, and for scraping tender bark from trees and marking territory as well as fighting.
They have nimble paws used for manipulating their food and prey, and can build rather elobrate nests for themselves.
Females prefer to eat berries, fruits, flowers and some nuts, while males prefer to eat nuts, grubs and fruits. They can range in colourations being anything from solid reds, greys and browns, to white with patches of colour.
They communicate in an almost chittered barking sound and their 'warning' cry can be very loud.
They typically live in colonies or packs, with the occasional loner or stray.
They're very fierce and protective of who (or what)ever they consider their family, including owners, packmates, and adopted families and will use their sharp claws to defend themselves and others.
They have very keen senses of hearing, smell and sight, and can see very well in low light, but rely on their hearing in total darkness.

I'm REALLY pleased with how this turned out. And the tatoo design is one I created a long time ago and thought it'd kind of make sense if Lifen had it on her shoulder, to show she belonged to Li Mei. (It looks a little like rose vines, don't you think?)

I didn't use a refrence for her! And that makes me SO happy!

And if anyone has a better name for her species than Stuggare, please PLEASE tell me -.-; I really bite at naming things.
