When the united states was lost.
to a man who commands the forces of war
and spouts dribble to the rest of us.
A man who preaches change that will change
everything that we know about life.
And the man who'll destory our home with his hope
of an econoamy quickly going to the bowl.
I see no reason to celebrate the day
Obama was brought to the House.
It spells disaster for those of us
who are as poor as a church mouse.
I can remember Guy Fawkes day because it's the day before mom's birthday. I try to celebrate her birthday on the fifth, just because she was home birthed, and all we can really prove is the doctor knew on the sixth she was born.
She's ranting, like I knew she would, that Obama won.
We had both voted for Nader.
And I'd like to know what happened to our votes? Why, throughout the entire election was Nader left out of discussion, or how about Cynthia RossMcKinney and Rose Clemente? I want to know what happened to the votes for them! With as many people as there were who were complaining about Obama and Mccain, and not wanting either, how come Nader never got a voice? What's the point in voting in a rigged election? The democrats are running both house and senate now. They're going to line the pockets of themselves, and those of us with just enough won't have enough anymore.
Go ahead, tax the rich, they're the ones who control the market. They'll just raise the price of everything to make up for the tax you're putting on them, and if you think you can't afford anything now, think of what it'll be like after the prices of everything doubles.

We overcome the ultimate race barrier and no one can any longer say "We're being opressed, we'll never get to that level, etc." And THIS is what you have to say about it?

I was going for Nader as well, but in my opinion, we should be thankful we got Obama and not that dreaded Hillary Clinton.
Seriously, what's with the buzz-kill?

My problem with him was all of things he and his campaign ran on.
His views on taxes, and his saying he has so much to change and how much change he wants to make. All the changes he's so optimistic about... aren't feasible. They were all just pretty words.
The fact that he's black doesn't bother me in the least. Cynthia McKinny, the green party canidate, is black. I'd've rather she got it than Obama. And not because she's a woman.
Colour doesn't matter, principles do. And Obama's campaign has me seriously concerned and downright terrified of what's going to happen.

He made promises all throughout his campaign that he has no power, decision or anything over. and people ate it up because it sounded pretty. I didn't want McCain or Obama in office because of their campaigns and the things they said throughout it and how much they both dodged every question that pretained to the important issues.

A little while ago, right after Bush had declared that the Iraqis were fruitless to work with, Obama set up a meeting in Baghdad with top Iraqi leaders, including Spokeperson Al-Dabbagh and Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki, to discuss a possible pullout. After only an hour, Obama had worked out a plan with them to have US troops out of Iraq by 2010, if not sooner depending on details like violence levels. The leaders looked it over and wholeheartedly liked it, as crazy as it sounds. This is a continuing process of course, but at least something is being done.
Although this was kept hush-hush for the time being, this might be a good sign of Obama's true will. I understand that neither he nor McCain really addressed the real issues face to face with the nation, but under the rug, Obama's done some real good thus far.
Sure, I have to agree with you: his whole "change, change, change" slogan is a bit discerning to me too, but keep in mind that a good majority of Americans are not so fluent in political talk, so perhaps Obama wanted a simple slogan that anyone could follow. I also don't think you should be basing too much of your opinions off of a humor website like JibJab. Let's just give the guy a chance, honey. Because for the next four years, he's all we got.

And if you think about it, all the politicians promises are just pretty words. They all promise change, it's just how they say they're gonna do it and how pretty they make it sound. We've already had 8 horrible years, I mean really, I doubt Obama can top that.

I'm giving him a chance. I don't like it, but that's why I vote.
*grins* If you choose not to vote, you can't really complain about politics. And yeah, we're stuck with him, I just wish some of those changes weren't backed by the people who control business and commerce.
We'll see. Hopefully my bad feelings are very very wrong and it'll be silver years. Gilded is sooooo gauche.
